Stonnington Primary is a multicultural school. Students from over 28 countries attend our school.
Liason with other LOTE primary schools and secondary schools in the areas which have Greek programs.
All children from Prep to Grade 6 will be participating in a LOTE programme.
A mother tongue maintenance programme is provied for native speakers of Greek.
Students in Prep will participate for approximately one hour per week, Grade 1 to 6 will participate for two hours per week.
The school is part of the district LOTE network.
Teachers are expected to promote the learning of LOTE in their classrooms and community.
The LOTE teacher will act as a resource person.
Teaching strategies will vary to cater for students individual differences and learning styles.
The LOTE program will compliment the curriculum topics covered in mainstream classes as much as possible.
